On the 1st of December we welcomed Babke Hogenhuis into our strategist team. Who is this bright new face and where did she come from?
Where did you come from Babke?
‘Before I joined the Fronteer I studied Strategic Product Design in Delft and I graduated on the topic of Open Innovation. I published an article on asymmetric collaboration between corporates and start-ups.’
Name one thing you really like to do in your free time
‘I love to travel and explore new cultures and cuisines. Food always plays an important role in deciding on my next destination.’
What inspires you?
‘The traditional beliefs and habits of different cultures and how these change over time, and the impact of our behaviour on the Earth. This is all beautifully illustrated in the new film ‘Human’ by Yann Arthus-Bertrand.’
What would you like to change?
‘Make development aid for social and economic inequality in the world more sustainable. You need to change the system, not fight the symptoms.’
Most important lesson learned:
‘Fail fast, then try again’
Soundtrack of your life:
Sade – Bring me home live (2011)
Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig – ‘a beautiful and philosophical book about the meaning of quality.’
